South Ribble Borough Council adopted its Local Plan in July 2015, setting out a blueprint for future development in the Borough up until 2026.
The Local Plan has identified the development of the Test Track for new homes and businesses as crucial. Like many areas, the Borough is under pressure to identify more land for homes and businesses. The Doll Lane scheme will reduce the need to build on previously undeveloped land by transforming this vacant brownfield site into a new neighbourhood.
The site is ideally located and well connected, being 1.9 miles from Leyland Town Centre and a further 2.4 miles from J28 of the M6 motorway. It is also close to existing amenities and facilities with good access to existing bus services. New residents will also support existing facilities in the town, helping to support the local economy.
